The Weekend in Black and White

This is a detail of Giambologna's "Ocean."
It was completed in 1576, and now
stands in the Bargello museum, in Florence.
He really made the marble "live," didn't he?

  10. Up until I read your caption I was sure it was a live person in the flesh. So lifelike, and done 437 years ago! I think I was still in knee pants.

Monica might have something there about the great cropping depending on one’s preferences.
